Betsy Hernquist, a legal assistant with Litner + Deganian, entertained the idea of an eventual career in law throughout high school and college. But her fluency in German (she double-majored in the language, along with Political Science, at Albion College in Michigan), led her first to an exciting string of careers abroad. She lived in Germany, Austria and England before moving to Georgia 10 years ago, where she began teaching German to preschoolers.
After deciding she was interested in again turning her attention to law, she reached out to Steve, who ended up bringing her on to help with records retrieval. She now works with case manager Chuly, obtaining and organizing records and documents. She prepares paperwork and patiently follows up to make sure the team has everything it needs.
Betsy enjoys the work environment at Litner + Deganian. “The team is smart, diverse and energetic,” she said. “I love the commitment to employees and clients.”
When she’s not working, Betsy spends time with her two very busy kids, attending baseball games, swim meets and band concerts. She also helps run a major kids’ consignment sale—an enterprise that takes the same detail-oriented organizational skills that make her such a great asset to the Litner + Deganian team.
