Born and raised in California, Adam grew up in a small town where the cows outnumbered the people four to one! He earned his degree in 2005 from the College of the Sequoias and was faced with the decision of where to live and what to do with his life. With the sky-high cost of living in San Francisco and his refusal to live in Los Angeles, Adam decided to follow in the footsteps of some relatives and give Atlanta a try. He loaded up his Ford Focus, drove southeast, and never looked back. He’s been working in personal injury law firms for more than 15 years now.
He joined Litner + Deganian in 2016 as a litigation paralegal soon after meeting partner Steve Litner. “Steve called me on a Friday after seeing my resume online. He wanted to meet up. I interviewed on Monday morning and received an offer that afternoon. It was one of those meetings where we both knew it was going to be a great fit. It’s amazing to me that when I started, Litner + Deganian had three attorneys and three paralegals. Now, we’re a team of nearly 20 people.”
One of the things Adam enjoys most about working at Litner + Deganian is the unique atmosphere. “I love the relaxed atmosphere. It’s great for morale, and it puts our clients at ease. The firm is growing, but I like that we’ve always been and always will be a family atmosphere. We actually enjoy hanging out together after hours. You can tell that the attorneys trust the team, and that gives everyone a real sense of accomplishment.”
When Adam isn’t busy at the office, you can probably find him cooking and hanging out with friends, planning his next big trip, or catching up on sleep. He recently had the opportunity to take an amazing trip to Great Britain, including London and Scotland. We can’t wait to see where his journey takes him next.
Adam, along with the rest of the Litner + Deganian team, is also highly involved in giving back to the community. After his father passed away, Adam and his brother walked their first Relay for Life with the American Cancer Society back in California. They walked the 3:00–4:00 a.m. lap in the rain. Now he’s takes part here in Atlanta to honor and support his friend who battled Stage IV Non-Hodgkin’s Peripheral T-Cell Lymphoma and is currently in remission.
“That the Litner + Deganian team is so active with causes like Emory University’s Relay for Life and the Rescue Dog Olympics is so inspiring. I had the opportunity to serve as captain last year with the Emory Relay, and we came in 2nd place for the most money raised out of 56 teams—over $4,000 in fundraising. These experiences bring us even closer together and closer to our community.”
